The script is well written, the acting is better than good, and it moves along at a pretty lively pace. It was refreshing to find a non ironic, non meta straightforward telling of this story, with some elements of charm and humor. It's a fun little adventure that kids and open-minded adults will get a kick out of. Good Fun Movie! "Jack The Giant Slayer" will reasonably divide critics and audiences, but if I had kids, I would have no problem taking them to see this. And while Ian Mcshane is sufficiently regal, Nicholas Hoult is the best thing in the movie.
